Atta Gad Foundation for Development is an Egyptian charitable foundation registered with the Ministry of Social Solidarity. It set out from the heart of Aswan as an extension of the path founded by Sheikh Atta Gad Mahmoud, devoting its efforts to serving the community and developing the human being through projects that empower individuals and support the families most in need.

From the heart of Aswan… the story began
Sheikh Atta Gad Mahmoud was born in 1950 in Al-Ghunaymiyya, Edfu, and grew up in a simple family that carried noble values: generosity, sincerity, and love of doing good. He was known for his giving, opening the doors of his home to those in need without expecting anything in return — believing that goodness is a trust.
At seventeen he moved to Aswan and began his journey from nothing — with no money and no support — until his business grew between Egypt and Sudan. He remained a symbol of giving to all without distinction until his passing in 2010, leaving a fragrant legacy in the hearts of the people of Aswan.
